Dr. Myriah Hinchey's Presentation "Herbal Solutions To Common Lyme Treatment Complications".

Watch or Listen...

I'm Dr. Myriah Hinchey, and I'm here to talk a little bit about herbal solutions to common treatment complications in Lyme and tick borne illness representing my company Lyme core botanicals.

So we have some new formulations that I'm excited to announce to you. We have... these are all tinctures. So we had a Bab core formula before that were c apsules. We now have it's a completely different formulation and it's an a four ounce tincture.

We have a new BartCore Formula tincture.

We have a BorreliaCore Formula. And all of these are meant to be layered over our foundation formula, which is one of our current formulas. So this was our flagship product. The first product we started with it's equal parts of Japanese knotweed and cat's claw. This is an encapsulation and each serving size gives you 1500 milligrams of each herb. We have a herx formula to help to bind the endotoxins and decrease the severity of a Herxheimer reaction. It is smilax glabra, gallium, Afreen and molybdenum. We have a viral core which is olive leaf extract, monolaurin skullcap, and I asked us and we have G three M, which is the modified citrus pectin product that I presented to you guys this morning. We also have bind, which is predominantly chlorella. So the ASAP formula contains akinesia ashwagandha Japanese knotweed skullcap, corte SEPs kudzu red sage and Chinese cat's claw. It comes in an eight ounce tincture, it's equal parts and the doses two teaspoons three times today are as soon as bit formula is an herbal formula that intervenes at every step of the infection process. So it's helpful for not only the transmission phase and an acute infection, but it's also helpful in a chronic infection because for as long as you are infected, the spirit heats are doing this to your body. And so now I'm going to shift gears I'm going to talk about my most used antimicrobials and a handful of these happened to be the ones that were included in the study that was done in the spring of 2020, where they were comparing the effectiveness of herbal medicines to that of Sefton and doxycycline. So Japanese knotweed and I'm just going to hit the highlights here, so it's anti inflammatory, so it decreases MMP one MMP three MMP nine, it suppresses serotonin induced swelling. It inhibits C reactive protein and rheumatoid factor positive responses. It's antibacterial. It's an anti oxidant it's cardio protective and anti Spira Keadle. It's an immuno modulates in immuno stimulant, and it's also very neuro protective. It acts on the central nervous system due to its ability to cross the blood brain barrier. It protects against beta amyloid induced neurotoxicity and ischemic injury by a moden. It's contraindicated in pregnancy and its side effects are abdominal pain, diarrhea, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, and it's only drug herb interaction is with blood thinners. cat's claw is an anti inflammatory mainly by its inhibition of nuclear factor Kappa Beta. It's an antioxidant. It is directly anti Spira. Keadle. studies showed that it was effective against all morphological forms of Borrelia burgdorferi Spirit keeps round bodies and biofilm like colonies, it is cardio protective, it's immunostimulant most importantly, increasing natural killer or CD 57 cell expression which lime likes to crush it's contraindicated with immunosuppressive therapy in pregnancy or women attempting to get pregnant. Even though I've had probably three or four women get pregnant on their treatment for Lyme disease, including catspaw drug herb interactions are it's contraindicated with blood pressure meds, blood centers and immunosuppressants sweet Annie is anti BCL and antiplasmodial. It was shown to cause inhibition of both in vitro and in vivo growth of multiple species of the BCR. Basically with the VCR being the cousin to malaria the research on malaria is significant, and it was shown to reduce malarial parasitemia more rapidly than any other known anti malarial drugs and is effective against all stages of plasmodium in a mice study. It was shown to be effective and 95 to 100% of mice infected with malaria. It's also antibacterial and anti spirit Keadle.

It's directly effective against the stationary phase. of Borrelia burgdorferi and more effective they on the control antibiotics, Sefton and doxycycline crypto lapsus. I'm so crypto lapsus has activity against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria. It's directly effective against the stationary phase of Borrelia burgdorferi and more effective than the control antibiotics, Sefton and doxycycline its anti malarial and anti Bibi zeal. It's anti inflammatory. It's contraindicated in pregnant women and women who would like to conceive and its side effects are really none. It's generally well tolerated and there's few side effects that have been documented in humans. Black Walnut is antibacterial and anti spear Keadle. It's also anti inflammatory it side effects are very uncommon. People with nut allergies sometimes cannot tolerate it and it's contraindicated in those with Hashimotos Chinese skullcap is antibacterial anti spirit Keadle. It showed in vitro activity against the log phase of spirit heats Leeton round bodies and biofilm formations of Borrelia burgdorferi and borella Garni Guardini. It also has a synergistic activity when paired with various antibiotics. It's anti inflammatory, it's neuro protective. Petunia is antibacterial, anti inflammatory and anti oxidant. It's shown a profound ability to inhibit the bacterial biofilm formation. And here is actually cited the recent study on boreal of Berg before I and Dr. Zheng says that this is the first study that provides the first convincing evidence that some of the herbs used by patients such as crypt ellipsis, black walnut, sweet Wormwood, cat's claw and Japanese knotweed have potent activity against Lyme disease bacteria, especially the dormant persister forms which are not killed by current Lyme antibiotics. And this is a similar study that was done on the Vizia sorry, ASAP two formula was created to pair with the ASAP one and it's like it's microbial or anti microbial counterpart. So I selected four different herbs that have pretty broad spectrum wide reaching effectiveness against the most common coinfections being for the UCI and Bartonella. If you use this along with ASAP one, and you have those eight other herbs, you've got a really good fighting chance not only from an anti microbial perspective, but from a stop the spread of disparate quiche throughout the body perspective and normalize the immune system. So the ASAP two is an antimicrobial herbal formula that is to be used as soon as the bite is found. It has broad spectrum antimicrobial action for line and possible coinfections. And really, this was developed to use while you're waiting for your tech test results, but you could also continue to use it ongoing. And then I kind of made a slide here where, you know, everyone's always asking for protocols. I'm not a big protocol person. But if I had to put my go to herbs for Lyme, and if someone had Lyme only, it would be Japanese knotweed cat's claw crypt. ellipsis sweet Annie black walnut skullcap, Petunia Incorta steps. Yeah,

that sounds like a lot but typically my patients are on at least five to eight herbs. The BCS Japanese knotweed and cat's claw crypto, lapsus, sweet Annie sido, Kuta and all cornea Bartonella is Japanese knotweed cat's claw, Petunia corte subscript, ellipsis, Sido, Kuta, and red root mycoplasmas, Japanese knotweed cat's cloth with Tanya and corte, saps. And for viruses, we have a viral core formula, but I love skullcap for viruses. And I tried to pick out which herbs are in which formula so the herbs with one abstract are in the ASAP and the herbs with two Asterix are in the ASAP two formula. So you can see how just by using those two formulas, you're getting a pretty like well rounded treatment here for all of these common infections. So understanding the spread and the path of infection, Lyme hijacks your immune system and gets it to work for it instead of for you. In both the acute and chronic infection. In the acute infection. The Spirit kits possess a few enzymes that act as a catalyst to gain entry into and spread throughout the body by degrading the connective tissue to stop the spread. You have to understand this process and intervene at each manipulation of the biochemical pathway. So in the initial stages of infection, you have the spirit key enter the body, you have adhesion of the spirit, Keats onto the endothelial cell. Also the blood vessel walls via adhesions on the spirit keep body. The Spirit keeps release cytokines to loosen the endothelial cell junctions to allow entry into the extracellular matrix. And lime loves it here because there are less immune cells, lots of collagen and lots of glyco amino glycans to break down the spirit keep on its flagella, releases flagellin and flagellin activates nuclear factor Kappa Beta from endothelial cells nuclear factor Kappa Beta causes immune and inflammatory responses and boreale uses nuclear factor Kappa Beta to further enhance inflammation and immune cell proliferation to increase the infection site and break down the tissues they need to feed from. inhibitors of nuclear factor Kappa Beta include the stragglers Porter steps boneset Petunia, Japanese knotweed could zu red sage, Chinese skullcap and ashwagandha. Part of this initiation of nuclear factor Kappa Beta is caused by inhibitory Kappa Beta kinase. And we have inhibitors of this enzyme which are quarter steps red sage, Chinese cats club.

So aggrecan is a proteoglycan found in the extracellular matrix and cartilage it's found most abundantly in the cartilage of joints and the spirit Keats release an enzyme called Agra kinase that breaks down aggrecan to release nutrients that it needs to feed. Japanese knotweed is the major inhibitor of African ace. How ironic acid is a gag that's widely distributed through the connective tissue epithelial and neural tissue. It's a major component of the synovial fluid and extracellular matrix. How you Ronna days allows for degradation of how erotic acid and loosens the connective tissue and extracellular junctions inhibitors of how Iran today's include akinesia and ashwagandha. So it's interesting because most people think that akinesia and ashwagandha are useful in treating Lyme because of how it modulates the immune system. And they're actually very useful because stopping the hell your Chrono days will actually stop the bacteria has the ability to move throughout the body. So if you can inhibit this step, you can inhibit bacterial movement mitogen activated protein kinases are also released by the stimulation of bacteria. These are the primary pathways used to enter a new host and stimulate the cytokine cascade. There are three subsets er Ks, je n ks and P 38 kinases. And we have inhibitors of all three of these quarter steps Japanese knotweed and skullcap inhibit both the ER K and the JNK. And kudzu also is an additional inhibitor of er K interferon alpha causes tissue inflammation, organ damage, autoimmune conditions, fever fatigue leukopenia, and it stimulates indole Amin to three dioxygenase interferon alpha inhibitors include Japanese knotweed, red sage and skullcap. And IDEO is an enzyme that breaks apart l tryptophane. into three subcomponents. It decreases T cells and it severely decreases melatonin and serotonin. I don't know about you guys, but almost every single one of my lyme patients are depressed has anxiety, and a lot of them have incurable insomnia. And this was a big eye opening moment for me to understand how this was happening. If you can use the idea of inhibitors which are skullcap, I asked us and cranium you can actually stop the breakdown of tryptophane and prevent the release of phenolic acid and skullcap also has melatonin in it so it's a wonderful thing to get extra of at night. So Quinn causes over stimulation of neurons in the brain causes excited excitotoxicity lesions, degrades the brain tissue increases reactive oxygen species and can induce seizures. The number and seriousness of seizures and ppl is directly related to the levels of Quinn and three HK Quinn inhibitors include Chinese cat's claw skullcap, melatonin and selenium. interleukin eight is the primary cause of inflammation and cellular damage resulting from it and a boreal and infection. interleukin eight inhibitors include Cordis ups I asked us and acetylcysteine Japanese knotweed and also doxycycline and minocycline. interleukin one beta is the primary cytokine expressed in boreale infection and it stimulates cell proliferation and increases Cox two in the central nervous system. It's intimately involved in increased sensitivity to pain. And this was a really important point too, because a lot of my patients will come in and they will tell me that the weight of The sheets on their bed causes their skin to hurt. And they tell me that most doctors think that they're crazy when they start talking about how their skin actually hurts them, but it's something that I see very commonly. inhibitors of interleukin one beta include. quadriceps boneset, Japanese knotweed, kudzu red stage and skullcap. interleukin six crosses the blood brain barrier stimulates PGE to and the hypothalamus and alters the body's temperature regulation process.

I see this all the time in patients where, you know, they're hot when other people are comfortable or they're freezing cold or they have these bone chilling coldness that they have to get like into a bath or into a sauna to make go away. Il six affects the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis and it causes degeneration of neurons in the peripheral and central nervous system. And it's very commonly elevated in MS Alzheimer's and depression inhibitors of Il six include and a graphis. I asked us who do read stage skullcap and again also doxycycline and minocycline. tumor necrosis factor alpha is elevated in many chronic inflammatory conditions at again affects the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis. It can cause issues with appetite, body temperature, liver function, insulin resistance, and can cause to be our brain and central nervous system damage. tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibitors are in a graphis cortisol ups boneset Hotu Nia skullcap and red stage. So the matrix metalloproteinases or MMPs, our collagen ASOS and they do exactly what they're named for they break down collagen. they degrade the extracellular matrix by breaking down collagen and releasing the glyco amino glycans that hold the extracellular matrix together. They cause a wide range of pathologies but are extremely damaging to the brain and the central nervous system. Japanese knotweed inhibits MMPs one and three quarter steps and acetyl cysteine red stage skullcap and quadriceps inhibit MMP nine as well as MMP three. These inhibitors halt the infection if disparate kids cannot break down collagen, they cannot feed, reproduce or spread. So hopefully now my approach to treating a tick bite makes more sense. So again, prompt and proper removal of the tick is key. Clean the bite site with hydrogen peroxide use the ASAP to antimicrobial formula topically on the bite site. Take orally astragalus, three to 6000 milligrams for per day for 30 days. Use the ASAP formula to teaspoons three times a day, that ASAP to Formula One teaspoon three times today and go on to the appropriate antibiotic if your tip comes back positive or if you develop any M rash. I'm sure everyone knows here that an EM rash is diagnostic of Lyme disease no matter what your test results says. And a lot of times if your doctor tests you immediately, you haven't had time to produce IgM or IgG. So if you get bit by a tick and you go to a doctor within a week, you're going to test negative you have the best chance of testing positive about two to three weeks out. Send the tick out for testing, watch for any expanding redness or heat at the attachment site. You want to look for systemic symptoms such as fever, stiff neck, aching, or headaches. And you don't want to panic because cortisol suppresses your immune system's ability to function. So there's a multitude of different herbs that we have here in our toolbox and I went over this slide this morning. So I'll spare you going over it again. To summarize, the most important point of this lecture is to again I said this this morning, but understand the mechanism of action of the herbs. Each herb understand how the organism lives and thrives inside of your body and then have a very good understanding of what's going on in that particular patient's body that makes them hospitable and then you can make an intelligent treatment plan.

At Lymecore we supply a pure potent and consistent supply of individual herbal tinctures so that the dose and formulation can be customized to each patient's unique tick borne disease presentation, as well as formulations that are created to solve the most common tick borne disease treatment complications. Our formulas work synergistically with pharmaceutical antibiotics or as a standalone treatment.
